Sperm Count Tests In Your Smartphone Have you been trying to conceive for a while but has not just happened yet? Your wife even bought an ovulation predictor kit. Maybe you already got yourself a sperm count kit but the one you bought can only count the amount of sperm and not how well they move. Fortunately, there’s an FDA-approved test now that will allow you to use a smartphone app to not only count sperm but find out how well they swim. The kit comes with a tool, an app and a mini-microscope “clip” that goes on the top your phone, permitting the device to use your phone’s light, recording capabilities and focus. Then you put a sample on a slide (similar to what you did in high school biology class), stick it into the clip, and wait for two minutes to show you the movement of the sperm on the phone screen. In another minute or so, you will be getting the test results. If you are a little anxious of the results, the app will give you some cheeky “sperm trivia” to lighten up the mood. You will be getting a copy of the video and the results in the app. The sperm count app can be trusted as it has gone through extensive testing for over for years, according to Marcia Deutsch, CEO of Medical Electronic Systems. 99 percent of the time, the technology is able to read the sperm sample but only if you follow every instructions given. If it is able to read the results, they are more than 97 percent accurate based on FDA studies of 316 participants of the study. Since the technology is an over-the-counter product, Deutsch said that the test will not give actual values but it will only indicate if it is “low” or “moderate/normal” based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for sperm motility (how well they move) and concentration (how many there are). The test reports a combination of the two parameters and it is called as the “motile sperm concentration,” or the number of moving sperm.

Just like any home test, users have to remember that the sperm count app is just the first step to figuring out if you have a fertility issue. So if the results come back low, you will have to go the fertility clinic to have a test done and confirm the results. There is one more thing that you need to check on too–morphology, which is how many normally shaped sperm there are. You will want to go see a doctor for this one. If your home test results showed normal but you still haven’t conceived in one year, go see a doctor, or in six months if you are over 35 years old.If You Think You Get Resources, Then Read This
